Specify each product and coat
Identify primer, build coat, finish coat and any aggregate or decorative broadcast. Each product can have a different coverage rate and container size. Estimate unlike products separately rather than multiplying one generic coverage value by all coats.
The epoxy calculator estimates repeated identical coats from manufacturer coverage. It does not infer volume solids, dry film thickness or chemical compatibility. Obtain the current technical instructions for the selected coating and substrate.
Calculate units from coated area
For an illustrative 100 ft² floor, two identical coats and 50 ft² coverage per unit, coated area is 200 ft². A chosen 10% allowance gives 220 ft² coat-area, requiring ceil(220 / 50) = five units. These values are an arithmetic example, not a universal epoxy yield.
Record substrate condition, preparation method, repairs, moisture evaluation and curing conditions as separate scope items. Deep repairs or leveling may use different products with their own thickness limits.
Compare complete dated bids
List product quantities, preparation, crack repairs, application, finish, access, disposal and tax. Keep country, locality, currency, quote date and validity beside the total. The dated US installation reference above is broad context; the specified layers and substrate preparation govern the bid. A material-only unit price cannot describe the cost of bringing an unsuitable substrate into the required condition.
