Accurate, Distraction-Free Construction Math

Real Construction Calculator (RealCalc) was created to solve a persistent frustration in the building industry: web calculators cluttered with intrusive pop-up ads, slow load times, and opaque formulas that don't reflect real job-site purchasing constraints.

Our Core Principles

01

Math Transparency

Every calculator discloses its exact formulas, physical constants, and step-by-step mathematical breakdowns directly in the user interface.

02

Job-Site Calibrated

We factor in realistic waste buffers, standard stock lumber lengths, bag yields, and discrete course layouts so you don't come up short at the lumberyard.

03

Privacy & Speed

All computations execute locally in your browser. No required accounts, no paywalls, and zero tracking cookies required for basic estimation.

Engineering & Review Team

Calculations, trade guides, and code references published on RealCalc are engineered by Alish Gautam (Software Developer) and reviewed by Bijay Katwal (Civil Engineer).

Our review workflow follows a three-pillar protocol:

  • Code & Standard Cross-Referencing: Algorithms and thickness recommendations are checked against official model building codes (such as the International Residential Code (IRC) and International Building Code (IBC)) and trade standards (ACI, AWC, NRCA, ASTM).
  • Manufacturer Yield Verification: Bag yields, dry-mix coverages, and shingle exposure numbers are calibrated directly from current technical data sheets (TDS) from major manufacturers including Quikrete, Sakrete, Trex, and GAF.
  • Regular Audit Cycles: Tools and content are reviewed biannually to maintain mathematical accuracy and align with updated code revisions.
