Dated US market references
These published ranges provide an early budget comparison. They are broad US dollar references, verified on 4 October 2026. Local quotes, selected products and the complete job scope determine your price. They do not populate calculator prices or convert to other countries’ markets.

Blown-in insulation installation: inclusions and source
Market: United States — broad national editorial reference; USD. Includes: Material and installation in the article’s Size of the Area section.
Excluded or requiring quote confirmation: Air sealing, wall repair, removal, remediation, equipment access and tax need confirmation.
Broad range spans different locations, products and thermal targets. Do not combine it with a separate labor rate.

Use a complete chart row
Identify product name and bag mass, target R, minimum installed thickness, settled thickness, maximum coverage per bag and minimum bags per 1,000 ft². A quoted area rate with no R-value or thickness is not a complete specification. Do not combine a coverage value from one product with a depth from another.
The Greenfiber and Owens Corning documentation links lead to product information. No legacy chart values are treated as current merely because they appear in a search snippet. Obtain the actual current package or technical chart for the selected material.
Check both bag constraints
In an explicitly hypothetical chart example, 1,000 ft² at 40 ft² maximum coverage per bag requires 25 bags. If that same row specifies at least 27 bags per 1,000 ft², the minimum-density constraint governs: order at least 27 before any separately chosen purchasing allowance. This example demonstrates the arithmetic and is not a named product profile.
Price whole bags and installation separately where possible. Confirm whether machine rental, setup, hoses, access and cleanup are included. A bag count based only on area can understate the specified installed density.
Compare current local quotes
Save the country, locality, currency, quote date, tax and validity. Separate removal, air sealing, ventilation protection and disposal. The broad US reference above is context; your product chart, installation location and target resistance govern the quote. Ask the installer to document the installed chart requirements rather than guaranteeing performance from appearance or depth alone.
